Israel to Revisit Controversial E1 Settlement Plan Amid West Bank Raids

Israel’s government is set to revisit plans on August 6th to expand settlements in the E1 area of the occupied West Bank—a move widely condemned for threatening the territorial contiguity of a future Palestinian state.
The proposal would link Maale Adumim, an illegal settlement, to Jerusalem, effectively bisecting the West Bank.
The plan was previously shelved in 2022 following American pressure, but recent road expansion and closures to Palestinian traffic suggest quiet progress on the ground.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces arrested at least 15 Palestinians on Tuesday during raids across various parts of the West Bank, underscoring the daily churn of occupation.
