Protest organised by a non-political group called Samyukt Kisan Morcha.

This is the group that led the year-long farmers’ protest, whose supporters are currently at the border between Punjab-Haryana provinces, threatening to march to the capital.

Farmers’ unions have intensified ongoing protests and have called farmers and workers from neighbouring states to travel to the capital New Delhi for a massive rally/protest.

The farmers are demanding higher prices for their crops.

Several rounds of talks with PM Modi’s ruling Bhartiya Janta Party government and the farmer unions have failed.
