The UN’s highest court, the International Court of Justice in the Hague, hears a case brought by The Gambia, who are accusing Myanmar of committing genocide against its minority Muslim group, the Rohingya.
During the 3 weeks of testimony, judges will also speak to witnesses, behind closed doors.
The proceedings will be watched closely as they are expected to affect a genocide case South Africa has brought against Israel over the war in Gaza.
