In a devastating strike on the ancient city of Palmyra, Syrian state media confirmed that an Israeli airstrike on Wednesday killed at least 36 people, with over 50 others wounded.

The assault reportedly targeted a residential building and an industrial area, further exacerbating the human toll as the region grapples with escalating violence.

Palmyra, a city steeped in history and home to some of the world’s most revered ancient ruins, has long stood as a symbol of human civilization. This latest attack underscores the growing humanitarian crisis in Syria, as civilian areas continue to bear the brunt of intensifying airstrikes.

While the human cost is undeniable, the future of Palmyra’s irreplaceable cultural heritage remains uncertain, with each bomb dropping further into a fragile past. The destruction not only takes lives but risks erasing parts of history that have endured for thousands of years.
