Gaza’s Grim Choice Between Hunger and Death

At least 59 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes across Gaza since dawn on Sunday, according to the Ministry of Health. Many of the dead were reportedly seeking food at aid distribution points run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
The Nuseirat refugee camp was among the hardest hit. A strike on a residential building there killed at least 13 people, with several family members still believed to be trapped beneath the rubble.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said that civilians in Gaza face what amounts to no real choice: “Risking your life to find food or starving to death is not a choice that anyone should ever face in their life.”
Gaza’s health ministry added that at least 274 people have been killed and more than 2,000 wounded near aid distribution sites since the GHF began operating in the territory.
