The Council will hold its monthly briefing followed by closed consultation on “The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question”.
This month’s meeting will be on Israel’s settlement activity.
As mandated by Security Council Resolution 2334, which states that Israeli settlement activity constitutes a “flagrant violation” of international law and has “no legal validity”.
Resolution 2234 demands that Israel stop such activity and fulfil its obligations as an occupying power under the Fourth Geneva Convention.
