At least 20 filmmakers have pulled out from the world’s largest documentary festival IDFA held in Amsterdam after a pro-Palestinian protest was denounced by the organisers.

Their withdrawal shows that the war on Gaza has not only polarized populations in Europe but also platforms known for accepting different opinions.

The world’s largest documentary festival – the IDFA – has long been an important platform for free speech to film makers.
