Israeli bombardments across the Gaza Strip have continued unabated, with at least 61 Palestinians killed since early Tuesday. Among the latest casualties, three people died and 16 were wounded in an Israeli strike that hit a tent sheltering displaced families in Nuseirat camp, in central Gaza, during the early hours of Wednesday. In Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City, three separate airstrikes killed 23 people.

As Israeli forces escalate their campaign in northern Gaza, thousands of Palestinians have been forced to flee south. On Tuesday, the Israeli military issued fresh evacuation orders for residents of Jabalia and surrounding areas, declaring them “dangerous combat zones” and warning civilians not to return.

The humanitarian situation is rapidly deteriorating. The World Health Organization reports that around 10,000 severely injured people are in urgent need of medical evacuation from Gaza. With the Rafah border crossing closed for over a year, only a few hundred patients have managed to leave.

Access to food remains perilous. At least 30 Palestinians were wounded on Tuesday by Israeli gunfire near an aid distribution point north of Rafah, according to medical sources. A video circulated on Monday—filmed two days earlier—shows Israeli soldiers firing above the heads of crowds waiting for food at the GHF’s Al Shakosh distribution site in Rafah. Aid groups report that at least 844 Palestinians have been killed while queuing for food since the GHF began operations in Gaza in May. The United Nations puts the toll slightly higher, at 875.

In Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared in court in Tel Aviv on Wednesday morning for a new hearing in his long-running corruption case.
