The UK hosts a meeting on global food security in response to the collapse of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which allowed ships carrying grain to leave southern Ukrainian ports without fear of attack and to highlight the impact it is having on the world’s poorest.
The aim is to “tackle the causes of food insecurity and malnutrition.”
It is held in partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Children’s Investment Fund, the United Arab Emirates and Somalia.
British PM Rishi Sunak opens the event and launches the International Development White Paper.
Followed by opening remarks by the President of Somalia HE Hassan Sheikh Mohamad, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment HE Mariam Almheiri and the founder of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation Sir Chris Hohn.
Foreign Secretary David Cameron closes the event.
