On Tuesday, rain is continuing to fall in some parts of New South Wales severely affected by flooding.
“This event is far from over,” New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet told reporters. “Wherever you are, please be careful when you’re driving on our roads. There are still substantial risks for flash flooding.”
More than 30,000 people have been impacted and dozens of evacuation orders are in place across Sydney and New South Wales.
Australian Defence Force officers are assisting with rescues and relief efforts.
All of Sydney’s major dams are spilling and for some areas it’s the third time this year that they’ve been flooded.
