The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) release their annual food and agriculture report which this year shows how our current agrifood systems impose huge hidden costs on our health, the environment and society, equivalent to at least $10 trillion a year. This represents almost 10 percent of global GDP.

This was based on a study of 154 countries.

Agrifood systems cover all farming, harvesting, livestock-rearing, storing, selling and buying our food before it hits our plates.
