During their meeting with U.S. officials, Aysenur's family called for an independent investigation into her killing, emphasizing that it would be "inadequate" for Israel to conduct its own inquiry into the incident.

The family of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, a 26-year-old American Turkish activist tragically shot and killed by Israeli military forces in September, met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and several members of Congress to demand justice for her death. Aysenur, a passionate advocate for Palestine, was fatally shot in the head by Israeli soldiers while protesting against the expansion of illegal Israeli settlements in Beita, located south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.

During their meeting with U.S. officials, Aysenur’s family called for an independent investigation into her killing, emphasizing that it would be “inadequate” for Israel to conduct its own inquiry into the incident. They urged the U.S. government to hold Israel accountable and to ensure that a thorough and impartial investigation is conducted to seek justice for Aysenur. The family’s plea highlights growing concerns over the lack of accountability for Israeli actions in the occupied territories and the need for international oversight in such cases.
