EU Foreign Ministers meet to discuss the situation in the Middle East including Palestine and Yemen.
The EU foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell invited Foreign Ministers for Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan, Israel, Palestine and the Secretary General of the Arab League.
The Council will hold informal exchanges with Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz in the morning, Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia – Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud -, Egypt – Sameh Shoukry -, and Jordan – Ayman Safadi – over lunch, and Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki in the afternoon.
Suggestion that an announcement could be made on an EU naval mission to protect ships from attacks by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi movement in the Red Sea.
