Escalating Conflict & Humanitarian Cost in Sudan

The humanitarian crisis in Sudan is dire, particularly in Kadugli, where the United Nations officially declared famine conditions in November, citing a severe lack of access to food and medical care for months. Alarmingly, similar distressing conditions have been reported in Dilling, situated approximately 100 kilometers (62 miles) to the north.
On the diplomatic front, Massad Boulos, senior adviser to US President Trump for Arab and African affairs, recently announced significant progress in peace negotiations. He revealed that he, along with the Quartet, comprising the United States, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt, has finalized a peace agreement deemed acceptable by both parties to the conflict. This development offers a glimmer of hope for a much-needed humanitarian truce amidst a backdrop of escalating violence and humanitarian suffering.
