Easter in the Occupied Land

The Greek Orthodox community of Ramallah numbers roughly 7,000. Both Christians and Muslims lined the streets of Ramallah to watch the parade.
April 20 marks Easter.
This year Eastern and Western churches celebrated Easter on the same day.
Christians attended Easter mass at the Holy Sepulchre Church which is built on the site where according to Christian tradition Jesus was crucified, buried and resurrected.
Celebrations started from Good Friday and continued until Sunday.
Tensions are often high in Jerusalem in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
For Christians in the Gaza Strip, the ongoing war means this Easter is a time of grief and pain.
Last year the Holy Fire didn’t reach Gaza, this year is expected to follow suit.
