An unpredicted high-temperature degree was recorded in the Eastern Antarctica area by Concordia Research Station. The degree has exceeded the known normal rates by 30 Celsius. https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20220319-antarctica-hits-record-temperatures-say-experts

Etienne Kapikian, who is a meteorologist from France-Meteo, said in a tweet: “Due to the increase of 3,000 meters altitude, a high record of -11.5 degrees Celsius had been registered.”

The Dumont d’Urville station on Antarctica registered in March record temperatures estimated to 4.9C, the normal was sub-zero.

The Gaetan Heymes of France Meteo described the unseasonably mild weather as a “historic event” and supposed not to happen.

US National Snow and Ice Data Center’s report said Antarctica’s sea ice has sharply dropped below two million square kilometers during February of the year 1979.
