Friday, June 17th, saw temperatures in the UK soar to 34 degrees, making it the hottest day of the month – and the year – so far, as the current heatwave sweeps through Europe.
London and some parts of East Anglia were the hottest.
UK Met Office scientists have said that carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is behind the rising temperatures.
Other research has shown that climate change is linked to heatwaves and extreme weather events around the world.
