Chile’s fires remain uncontrolled, despite relentless efforts.

Flames have claimed the lives of 24, injured 2,180, completely destroyed 1,180 homes and left 5,560 people homeless.

About 20 people have been arrested on suspicion of having set some of the fires.

Following a request for assistance from Chile, France, Portugal and Spain are deploying more than 250 firefighters.
