Abdel Fatah Al Burhan, head of Sudan Sovereign Council اhas arrived in Doha for a one-day visit to Qatar.

He headed to Diwan directly from the airport to hold talks with Emir and other officials and to discuss bilateral relations, aid to Sudan and issues related to Sudanese refugees.

Since April, a power struggle and fighting between the Sudanese army and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces has killed at least 5,000 people, according to a conservative estimate from the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project.

“It has also forced 4.8 million people out of their homes — one million of whom have crossed borders — according to the UN, which expects those numbers to rise further,” according to agencies.

Military chief Abdel Burhan is expected to visit Saudi Arabia in the coming days.

Burhan will go back to Port Sudan after visiting Qatar.
