On Saturday, September 6, British police detained over 425 protesters supporting Palestine Action, a pro-Palestinian group recently designated a terrorist organisation. The government banned the group in July following a high-profile break-in at a Royal Air Force base, where members damaged military aircraft. Palestine Action, which has also targeted British defence firms with Israeli ties, accuses the UK government of complicity in alleged Israeli war crimes in Gaza.

In recent weeks, police have intensified their crackdown, arresting hundreds of supporters, many aged over 60, under anti-terrorism legislation. The Metropolitan Police reported detaining around 150 people on various charges, including assaulting officers and supporting a proscribed organisation, underscoring London’s tough response amid growing political and social tensions.
