At least 13 people have been killed in the village of Hilaliya, located in East Gezira state, as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continue their brutal siege on the area.
For days, residents have been trapped in mosques, pleading for safe passage to escape the violence.
The RSF’s attacks on villages across eastern Gezira, which began on October 20, have led to the displacement of more than 135,000 people.
In a related development, Sudan has canceled a $6 billion deal with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to develop a Red Sea port, accusing Abu Dhabi of backing the RSF in Sudan’s ongoing conflict.
