Air strikes and demolitions intensified across Gaza City overnight between Wednesday and Thursday, as Israeli forces targeted several neighbourhoods including Sabra, Zeitoun, Jabalia and Sheikh Radwan. In the latter, a residential apartment was bombed early on Thursday, reportedly killing at least one person.
The previous day saw one of the deadliest in recent weeks, with at least 81 Palestinians killed across the Gaza Strip, according to local health authorities. Among the dead were five people struck by a drone in a late-night attack as they gathered outside a café in Al-Shati refugee camp, in the north-west of Gaza City.
The continued bombardment underscores the unrelenting pace of the conflict, now deep into its second year, as diplomatic efforts to reach a ceasefire remain stalled.
