The Israeli military says it carried out more than 480 attacks in the past 48 hours, targeting two navy facilities on Tuesday, where 15 vessels were docked, and destroying several airfields. It also fired at ports in Latakia and Al Beida, as well as at three airports.
However, it has denied reports that its forces have advanced further into Syrian territory.
Syria’s caretaker Prime Minister, Mohammed al-Bashir, states that Syrians need “stability and calm,” and that he is working with officials from Bashar al-Assad’s regime to reset public services and institutions.
The Kremlin emphasized the importance of ensuring the security of Russia’s military bases and diplomatic missions in Syria. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Moscow is maintaining contact with those in charge in Syria and hopes for a stabilization of the situation.
