Over two days, seven former FARC commanders will recognize their responsibility for the kidnappings of hundreds of people in Colombia’s Southwest during the country’s internal conflict.
They will formally recognize their responsibility in a public hearing in the city of Cali in front of transitional justice judges and their victims.
The hearings that will take place on Monday coincide with the 8th anniversary of the signing of the historic peace deal with FARC rebels.
But despite the country’s efforts many of the structural changes promised by the accord remain unfulfilled.
