The Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, who is due to speak to the H0use of Commons Tuesday, may announce the results of his own review into UK policy on Israel.
And may ban some arms sales to Israel as a result. Please note that it is highly unlikely that UK government will publish any legal documents relating to arms sales to Israel.
On July 26th, the new Labour government dropped plans to challenge the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant request against Benjamin Netanyahu.
Under the previous government, a Conservative one, the UK had considered challenging the right of the ICC to issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Israel’s defence minister, Yoav Gallant.
A Number 10 spokesperson said the Labour government would not be pursuing the previous government’s objection because it was a matter for the court to decide on.
They said the government’s decision was neither an objection to nor an endorsement of the ICC’s case against Netanyahu.
