Net migration has fallen by 10% but it is still more than two and a half times the size it was in 2010 when the Conservatives came to power.
Most of this is driven by non-EU citizens coming to the UK for work and to study.
The government has gotten tough with internationals students by tightening the visa rules for their family members, making it less attractive for them to extend their time in Britain or look to try and stay permanently.
