Late last year Aljazeera was the first international news network to bring the world images of the makeshift migrant camps proliferating along the U.S. Mexico border: this spring, Aljazeera English returned to the same location to see if the situation had changed.
Migrants arrive after long journeys to request asylum in the U.S. But border authorities require them to stay outdoors, exposed to the elements, sometimes for days at a time.
The Border Patrol says its detention facilities for asylum seekers are overwhelmed.
