On Friday fighting has renewed to take control of the town of Sake.
The conflict has intensified in recent weeks between government forces and armed groups, displacing thousands and fueling regional tensions.
The rebel group M23 is threatening to take the town of Sake.
That could cause food and aid supplies to be cut off for nearby Goma, a city of more than 2 million people.
M23 is one of more than 100 armed groups in the region, seeking a share of the gold and other natural resources.
Rwanda is accused – by the UN among others, of supporting M23 – a claim which it denies.
