Yemeni refugees in the Markazi refugee camp in Djibouti who fled the civil war in their country now fear that the war in Gaza and the escalating attacks on vessels in the Red Sea might diminish their hopes of returning home soon.
The refugees fear that the U.S. multinational task force to safeguard the Red Sea might escalate the war at home, denying them a chance to return sooner.
At the same time, there is increasing concern by the government and refugee agencies that the number of refugees in this small town could surge and suppress the already little resources available.
