Decision on whether to end or continue the trial of eight Croatians accused of human trafficking.
If the court decides to throw away the case, the couples walk free. If the court decides to continue, it may last for months and the couples can appeal.
The four couples allegedly tried to traffic children from the neighboring Democratic Republic of the Congo.
A Zambian immigration official and a Congolese hospitality worker also are charged.
The group had claimed they legally adopted the children, aged between one and three years old.
All but the Congolese accused are out on bail.
