Periodic gunfire has been heard in Sudan’s capital Khartoum, despite a new seven-day humanitarian ceasefire coming

into effect late on Monday.

Saudi Arabia and US-mediated seven-day – ceasefire is largely holding despite several violations at the onset.

It’s hoped it will pave the way for aid to get into Khartoum and other areas and states that there should be no air strikes or heavy artillery used during this time.

The movement of troops would also violate the agreement.
