Nationwide protest, called for by opposition parties against President Macky Sall.

The protests come ahead of a trial hearing of opposition leader Ousmane Sonko today, Thursday, over defamation allegations by the Senegalese tourism minister.

Sonko called out the minister for alleged mismanagement of funds.

The opposition says this new case is too politically motivated.

If sentenced, Sonko will be barred from running in next year’s presidential.
