The United Nations said it intends to build an international early warning system to face the worsening climate and environmental changes and protect vulnerable inhabitants from the violent consequences of nature.

“Third of world populations, particularly in the least developing and developing Island countries are in urgent need of this early warning system”, UN revealed. Also added that more than 60% of the African continent’s populations are jeopardized to consequences of climate change and catastrophes.

The project according to the UN is expected to cost $1.5 billion and will be established within the framework of the forthcoming five years.

Addressing World Meteorological Day, the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the UN wants to make sure that every person on Earth’s planet is protected by newly early warning systems. “This early warning system will provide scientific information, meteorological data, predict natural behavior, and avoid sudden disasters” Guterres added.

“The systems also will help governments and individuals to set plans and give them an opportunity to make preparations and be ready to minimize climate negative impacts,” Hel said.
