A “code red for humanity” and a “wake-up call” for the world.
They are just some of the reactions to the biggest UN climate change review since 2013.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says there is no longer any doubt that humans are warming the oceans, land and sea by burning fossil fuels.
Some of the damage, such as melting polar ice sheets, is now irreversible.
But scientists say there is still time to limit the damage if governments make firm commitments to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
However, after decades of dire warnings, are people still listening?
How can we combat “climate fatigue” and ensure action?
