The Colombian government has asked for forgiveness for the State’s role in the case of a Colombian journalist who was kidnapped, tortured, and raped while reporting on the country’s civil war. Tuesday was the final day of hearings at an international trial at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. But Jineth Bedoya, the veteran journalist at the centre of the trial, says the government apology is not enough in a case that has become synonymous with the impunity plaguing Colombia’s justice system.
