Hundreds of activists assemble in Athens’ central Syntagma Square to call for the immediate reopening of the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza. Demonstrators urge Egyptian authorities and the international community to facilitate the delivery of much-needed humanitarian aid to the blockaded Gaza Strip, where a growing population faces shortages of food, medicine, and essential supplies amid ongoing conflict. The rally underscores mounting concerns over the worsening humanitarian crisis and the urgent need for coordinated diplomatic action.

Simultaneously, a separate march organised by a trade union affiliated with Greece’s communist party makes its way to the Israeli embassy in Athens. The protesters condemn recent Israeli military strikes reportedly targeting Iranian interests and infrastructure, which further heighten tensions in the already volatile Middle East. The union calls for an end to foreign military interventions and urges all parties to pursue peaceful dialogue.

These demonstrations come amid a broader wave of international activism focused on the escalating violence and humanitarian distress in the region, reflecting deepening public frustration with the lack of progress towards a lasting resolution.
