Four major weather events are set to bring major rainfall to many regions and cities in Australia that are already sodden from previous rain events.

Flash flooding and heavy rains are hammering some of Australia’s most populated states with Victoria’s capital city of Melbourne expecting to fall up to 70mm on Thursday.

Catchments across most states are already full and some more additional rain could trigger major flooding.

Residents in southeastern Australia are being warned to prepare for a massive rain band and flash flooding risk which could see some communities isolated and there could be “life-threatening” conditions in Tasmania.
