In Haiti, UN experts decry that women remain sidelined even as violence consumes the country.
Every member of the transitional presidential council is male, and sexual violence continues to be wielded as a weapon of terror.
“To exclude half the population from power,” the experts said, “is not only unjust, but also strategically self-defeating.”
The world’s crises, it seems, are as much about who holds power as who is left out of it.
