A fresh investigation by the Washington Post said that an Israeli soldier likely killed journalist Shireen Abu Akleh.
“The available video and audio evidence disputes IDF (Israeli forces) claims there was an exchange of fire in the minutes before Abu Akleh was killed and supports the accounts of multiple eyewitnesses interviewed by The Post, who said there was no firefight at the time.” http://english.wafa.ps/Pages/Details/129648
“The Washington Post examined more than five dozen videos, social media posts and photos of the event, conducted two physical inspections of the area and commissioned two independent acoustic analyses of the gunshots. That review suggests an Israeli soldier in the convoy likely shot and killed Abu Akleh,” the Washington Post said in its report.
Palestinian Attorney-General Akram Al-Khatib said their probe shows the Israeli military intentionally killed Abu Akleh
Aljazeera Media Network assigned its legal team to refer her killing to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.
The legal file will also include the Israeli bombing of Aljazeera’s office in Gaza in May 2021.
International condemnation and calls for justice continue.
