Today, Monday marks the 75th International Day of Peacekeepers with the United Nations paying tribute to those who have served and continue to serve in UN peacekeeping operations and to honour the memory of those who have lost their lives in the cause of peace.
This year marks 75 years since the 1948 creation of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO), to monitor the cease-fire after the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.
