Sudanese Army Gains Ground in Khartoum

Published on: 23 March, 2025

The Sudanese army has made significant progress in Khartoum, intensifying its advances against the rival paramilitary group, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Over the weekend, the military strengthened its position at Khartoum Airport and seized control of several key government buildings, including the central bank’s main headquarters and various universities.

Despite these setbacks, the RSF remains entrenched at the airport, holding strategic ground.

This development follows the RSF’s capture of the presidential palace on Friday, marking a major shift in the ongoing two-year-long conflict between the two forces.
