The body of Sherien Abu Akleh has been taken to the presidential HQ for state service. Well-wishers will pay their respects.

Abu Akleh was shot and killed while covering an Israeli raid in the occupied West Bank town of Jenin early Wednesday, the Palestinian health ministry said.

Her autopsy confirmed she was shot in the base of her head by a single high-velocity bullet, killing her instantly.

International reaction has been pouring in from around the world.

The German Foreign Ministry expressed its “shock, Egypt’s foreign ministry condemned the killing in the ‘strongest possible terms”.

Both the British and American ambassadors to Israel expressed their sadness and called for a clear and transparent investigation into the circumstances of her death.

Qatari Foreign Ministry official said in response to her killing that “state-sponsored terrorism must stop.”
