At least six people were killed and several others injured on Monday in a shooting at a bus station near the illegal Israeli settlement of Ramot Alon, north of Jerusalem.
An Israeli soldier and civilians who were at the scene shot and killed the two attackers, according to the police.
The Spanish government has confirmed that a Spanish citizen was among the six people murdered in the East Jerusalem attack.
Israel’s far-right finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, blamed the attack on the Palestinian Authority, which he claimed, “raises and educates its children to murder Jews”.
The Israeli army Chief of Staff, Zamir, announced a full lockdown of the area, following an attack at Ramot Junction in Jerusalem.
Palestinian fighters killed four Israeli soldiers on Monday after lobbing an explosive device into their tank, the Israeli military said.
Another soldier was moderately injured in the exchange of fire that ensued, the military said, adding that “hits were identified” on two of the three militants who carried out the assault.
Only three of the dead soldiers were named, while the name of the fourth has not yet been cleared for publication.
Separately, the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will give testimony in his criminal trial in the Tel Aviv District Court, after his testimony scheduled for today was canceled.
