At least 53 Palestinians were killed across Gaza on Sunday, including 35 in Gaza City. Strikes on tents in Deir al-Balah and Tal al-Hawa resulted in further casualties, with six and seven deaths respectively. Israel’s campaign of targeting and destroying high-rise towers in Gaza City continues, with over 70 buildings bombed as part of efforts to force civilian evacuations. Forced evacuation orders are often followed by airstrikes, including attacks on the Al Kawther building and a tower at the Islamic University sheltering displaced people. The Israeli military claimed, without providing evidence, that Hamas was using one of the towers as an observation post.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) reported that Israel’s invasion has pushed more civilians south, leading to dire conditions in overcrowded displacement camps. According to UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini, ten UNRWA buildings have been hit in the past four days, including seven schools and two clinics currently serving as shelters. The UN has been forced to suspend healthcare in Beach Camp, the only facility north of Wadi Gaza, and water and sanitation services are operating at half capacity.

UNICEF reports that over 10,000 children in Gaza have been diagnosed with acute malnutrition in just the past two months, underscoring the escalating humanitarian crisis.
