As Gaza’s population reels under the intensifying military campaign, the humanitarian landscape grows ever more precarious, with relief agencies grappling to meet needs under increasingly constrained conditions.

Violence in Gaza escalated sharply this week. Israeli airstrikes claimed at least 20 Palestinian lives on Thursday alone. Among the dead were three people struck in the early hours by a drone targeting a tent sheltering displaced residents west of Deir al-Balah, leaving several others injured.

The Israeli military imposed further restrictions on movement, halting travel from southern to northern Gaza along Al-Rasheed Road from Wednesday morning. Passage will now be strictly one-way, southbound only, leaving many stranded amid growing insecurity.

Humanitarian agencies are struggling to keep pace. The International Committee of the Red Cross announced on Wednesday a temporary suspension of its Gaza City office operations. Staff have been relocated to southern Gaza to maintain services in safer conditions. Tens of thousands of residents remain trapped in the city, confronting acute shortages of food, water, and medical care.
