Opposition parties are expected to march towards the Prime Minister’s office in Dhaka to protest against the arrests made under Digital Security Act. The protest is part of a series of demonstrations in the country denouncing the act and arrests under the law. The protest follows after the death of a government critic Mushtaq Ahmed aged 53 who collapsed and died on Thursday, 10 months after being arrested under the law for comments on Facebook criticising the government’s response to coronavirus. A bail plea will be heard in Bangladeshi court for another activist and cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore who had criticised the government for handling the coronavirus pandemic.
