Chad’s government says the country faces an unprecedented humanitarian crisis threatening the lives of more than 2-million people.

It is appealing for international aid.

The government blames flooding, an influx of refugees especially from Sudan, increasing numbers of displaced persons, and armed conflicts between communities.
