U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken holds meetings in Tel Aviv, today, with President Isaac Herzog, PM Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Minister Benny Gantz and the Israeli war cabinet.
Blinken will also hold a solo news conference.
According to the State department, Blinken will focus on the escalating violence between Israel and Hezbollah and will also discuss measures to “substantially” increase humanitarian aid to Gaza; securing the release of remaining captives, and ensuring Palestinians are not forcibly displaced from Gaza.
The State department also says Blinken aims to push Israeli officials on a plan for post-war Gaza.
