A British judge gave the go-ahead to the Home Office with regard to sending asylum seekers, arriving illegally in Britain, to Rwanda.
The first flight may take off on June 14th.
Care4Clais charity launched a legal challenge to stop the UK Home Office’s deportation
The judge dismissed the campaigners’ attempts to win an injunction to stop it.
“There is a material public interest in the Home Secretary (Priti Patel) being able to implement immigration decisions,” Judge Jonathan Swift said.
Charity Care4Calais is now working with 80 out of the 100 people that the Government has sent ‘Notices of Intent‘ saying that they will be sent to Rwanda. 17 have received notices to say their deportation is imminent, ten of which mention 14 June.
They are all in detention centres in the UK.
