Amnesty International’s annual global report will highlight human rights abuses in occupied Palestine, Myanmar, Yemen, and Ethiopia, and criticise major powers including the US and China for excusing some of those abuses or pressuring against action.
The report praises the West’s attention to human rights abuses in Ukraine while calling out double standards for not doing the same in many prolonged conflicts around the world.
Amnesty said 2022 may be a ‘turning point for the international order’, but not on human rights.
